It's About Time

Finally. I've come to the point in my life when I can no longer avoid it. It's here, staring me down and I can't run - there's nowhere to hide.

Ignorance has found me.

A coward, trembling in the corner, trying as hard as I might to avoid thinking about these issues.

Like the fact that oil is destroying our world and 3% of the population owns the majority of our wealth.

I've been blissfully unaware of each and every political decision made in my lifetime. I make believe that if I just close my eyes and focus on my own personal happiness that everything will be alright because I can't do anything, right? The truth is -  that is not true. Not as long as my conscience is in working order.

So here I am. It's late, I'm working at 7:30am tomorrow morning and I'm mad. I'm mad about the state our world is in. It infuriates me to the point that I feel helpless. However, I truly believe that with knowledge comes power and starting this day, I will blog about my journey to acquire the knowledge I need to feel like an empowered citizen of this country. While not all information is true, I am determined to learn about each issue from all angles and combine them to form my own perspective.

It's all about balance and understanding and those I am determined to have.

So here she goes. My first goal.....to understand the viewpoints of the political party in power in Canada. While I find myself struggling to agree with them most of the time, I think having a solid knowledge of their ideals will put me in a better position to formulate my stance. So..... here we go!!
